Preparations for Unicon16 have been going on for a couple of months now. In order to keep you updated, we put together this newsletter with important news concerning Unicon16 as well as registration, which is going to open early 2011.

Some competitions and events are being held at the same time. Please take some time considering which competitions you want and will be able to attend.
Unicon16 Convention
UniCon16 is going to be an extraordinary convention. We, the organizers of UniCon16, are looking forward to not only hold the world championships but also make a great unicycle convention happen. As the name UniCon suggests, the focus of the event lies on the get-together, not the competition. In this sense, being part of the event is the most important aspect.At UniCon16, you can not only win medalls, but mostly friends and experiences you’ll be able to tell all your life. This is why UniCon16 will have a lot of room for all kinds of meetings. UniCon16 wants to promote unicycling as a sport; there is no place better for that, than one where unicyclists from all over the world are present. This makes UniCon16 a great unicycle fest, a unique experience, a dream coming true.
In order to make some of your dreams come true, we are not only inviting but asking you to get involved. When registering, tell us your dream for UniCon16.
With your ideas and your creative input, you are supporting us in planning this convention, that will have lots of room to try new things, become creative and live it out. We need your input and are grateful for it. We want to make UniCon16 something big, so big, that the active help of each participant makes it bigger than we can imagine.
Briefly: UniCon16 is the convention that you have to be part of, because it is new and extraordinary and additionally ist he host of world championships. Here’s a little taste of what is awaiting you at UniCon16 for your inspiration and increase of anticipation:
Spagetti Day – all finals at prime time – a very long list of workshops – a birthday circle at the opening event – get-together of partner clubs – Uni-Fight-Night – Gala Show – fun rides in large and small groups – Gaudi Day – World’s Sexiest Unicyclist Competition
Registration
In January 2011 we’ll open registration. Here is some information about Unicon16 in advance:The schedule of Unicon is divided into three parts:
• Racing: Races as they have always been but with some new rules, that are being described further down
• Workshops: For the first time in Unicon history, we want to put emphasis on the workshops. 3 hours are reserved for workshops each day.
• Fun: The fun of unicycling and the exchange between unicyclists is an important part of Unicon16. In addition to Gaudi Day, we’ll add more fun events to the program.
What is part of registration?
Anybody who registers for Unicon16 has the right to a basic package of events. Each participant can be part of the follwing competitions:
• 100 m
• IUF Slalom
• 10 KM
• Marathon
• 100 KM
• High Jump
• Long Jump
• Muni, uphill
• Muni, downhill
• Muni, cross country
• Muni, surprise
• Muni, surprise
• Speed trial
Registration also includes
• Welcome Package, Unicon16 bag with a variety of contents
• Unicon T-Shirt
• Free Bus ride to 10KM
• Free Bus ride to Marathon
• Free Bus ride to Muni, Free ride of gondola to Plose at day of Muni races
• Free entry to all Unicon events including social events which are being organized by Unicon16
• Free entry to Good bye-Party
In order to make it possible to register for as many people as possible, we have to introduce IUF limitations to some competitions.
Those limited competitions are:

During the first phase of registration, each participant can register for those limited competitions.
Attention: Since some competitions are being held at the same time, it is essential to only register for events that you will be able to take part in timewise.
Additionally, we are asking all participants to register only for events that they are actually going to compete in. This ist he only way to make this a great Unicon not only for a few but for all participants.
In order to make this a great Unicon for everyone, the organizers are subject to disqualify participants, that do not show up for 2 or more competitions they were registered for.
Costs and Steps of Registration:
Registration is being done in three phases.

After Phase 1 there is going to be an analysis of the limited competitions. If there are more registered participants than there are allowed per each country in one more more limited competitions, we will inform the corresponding national organizations until 30.09.2011. If less participants than allowed signed up for a limited competition, we will also make sure to communicate this to the national organizations.
