Event Instruction Marathon 43km
The unicycle marathon will take place on Sunday, July 29th. Over 200 unicyclists will try to ride more than 42 km as fast as possible. Start is in Bozen/Bolzano, the finish is in Brixen/Bressanone.Spectators
It is possible to cheer for the riders in some places on the track.Note: The shuttle bus brings the participants to the start, but the bus does not go back to Brixen. Spectators who want to see the start, need to use public transport for this reason, or go by car to the start.
Participants
Start:
The start is at the cable car "Jensiener Seilbahn" at the northern end of Bolzano. A shuttle bus will take participants to the start. Please note the departure time of your bus on your bus ticket.
Track
The marathon course runs along the bike path and follows the river Talfer downstream. Then the bike path follows the river Eisack upstream. We leave the city of Bolzano quickly. During the first 8 km there are some art objects next to the path bike. The old railway line is used as a bike path and there are some tunnels on the way to Brixen. On the way to Brixen a few places like Griffen, Kollmann, Ponte Gardena and Klausen will be crossed. Transport:
Buses take the competitors from the stadium in Brixen to the start in Bozen. Please check your bus ticket in the registration bag for exact departure time. The shuttle bus takes about 40 minutes.Categories:
The scoring is done in two wheel size classes: 700c (29 ") and the unlimited class.● 29" wheels are allowed up to a maximum diameter of 768mm . The crank length is not limited. Unicycles with gears are not allowed.
