Muni Uphill
Muni Uphill will be on July 28th. It will take place on Plose Mountain. Plose is Brixen’s local mountain; from the top of the mountain you can see the Unicon16 stadium.Spectators
With your bus ticket a shuttle bus brings you from Unicon16 over to the gondola. You can also drive your car up to Plose Bottom Station in St. Andrä. The gondola will bring you up to 2000m. The uphill start is a 5 min walk from the top station.Follow the blue arrows to get from the top station of the gondola to the uphill start.
Participants
Start:
The start is at 2000m, on Alpine Meadow. The race will start in heats of 10 riders with starts every 3 minutes.
Starting order and time is prescribed. Check the starting list.
Timing / rules
Uphill race starts with the typical start beep.A early start during the start beep will result in a 10 second time penalty.
Timing is with chips on the rider’s foot.
Riders that take longer than 15 min will be disqualified.
It is not allowed to walk a single meter uphill. You have to ride the entire way. If you dismount you are allowed to mount again on the same spot or lower.
You get your timekeeping chip at the top station of the gondola. The timekeeping chip must be attached with Velcro at the ankle. Participants can only start with a chip on the foot. For timing at the finish line the position of the chip will be recorded, not the position of the wheel.
Your starting number must be on your front.
Shuttle
We have organized buses to bring you from the Unicon16 area to the Gondola Station.Check your Busticket for the time of your Bus. The Gondola will bring you to the top.
To get from the station to the uphill start will take you more than an hour.
Please check your bus ticket in your registration bag for your starting time.
Track
Uphill will be on an alpine meadow. The track is up a ski slope; it is grass all the way to the top.The track is at least 460 meters long and about 20m wide. The top is 80m higher than the start.

Protective Clothing
For Muni Uphill helmets, knee pads, shoes and hand protectors and starting number at the front are compulsory.Event Director: Willi Ploner
Plose:
Plose is a 2550 meters high mountain and the closest mountain to Brixen.Shuttlebus go from Brixen to the bottom station of the gondola. it is 500 meters above Brixen at an altitude of 1000m the gondola brings us to the mountain station at 2,000m altitude.
The uphill race is at about 2000m and starts in the morning. After a lunch break the downhill races starts. On July 28th there is a mountain farmers’ market around Plose Station.
The Gondola will run till 19:00. Unicon16 participants are allowed to use it for free.
Downhill normal and Downhill expert
Muni-downhill races are on 28th of July at Plose Mountain.There are two routes, normal and expert. The routes have a common start close to the top station of the Gondola and also a common finish slightly above the Bottom station.
Spectators:
Along the track there are many good spots to watch the racers. Please always stay outside the marked Downhill track.Competitors
The first Shuttle Buses start at 7:00, check your exact bus time on your bus ticket.Start:
Downhill Start is at 14:00, by start time in heats. Make sure you are at the start on time.In one heat there are always five starters for the normal route and 2 starters for the expert route.
Only participants of the Expert race compete for the world championship title.
Riders of normal downhill will get some age group awards.
Within the first few meters after the start, the track separates into normal and expert routes, and will come back together just before the finish line
Practice
You can go for a practice run every time during unicon.The bus from Brixen leaves every hour between at 8:13 every hour till 19:13.
The Gondola is running every day from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 18:00.
Rules:
Pay attention to other competitors and help injured participants. Report it to the next marshals.Make space for faster riders to pass you.
At difficult sections it is allowed to dismount and walk around. Walking competitors must stay out of the way of riding competitors.
Running is not allowed on the track.
Race-Marshals are allowed to give time penalties to running competitors.
Stay always on the marked track and hand back your timing chip after the finish line.
Quit
Participants who quit on the track have to report this to an official track marshal of our mountain rescue.Always come down to the finish line and return your timing chip.
Participants who do not report that they quit or do not hand back their chip will cause a large search operation on the mountain.
Downhill Track:
Normal
Is a forest path, it is rocky, and some sections are steep.The track is about 5,8 km long and it will take you at least 20 min to get to the finish riding fast.
The path is always wide enough to pass other riders.

Expert:
The expert track follows a hiking path that is very steep. It has lots of turns and some narrow sections.It is all the way downhill, has lots of roots and rocks on the way. It is a technical ambitious and only for experienced muni riders. The track is about 4,1km long. It will take you more than 20min to finish it.
Make sure you do a practice run.

Protection:
Obligatory: Helmet, knee pads, shin guards, gloves and / or wrist guardsalso elbow guards and back protectors are recommended.
Awards
The results will be posted at the Info Wall in the Stadium.The awards ceremony will be done on 28th in the Freestyle Gym in the evening at 20:00.
